Purpose and direction
Where your attention keeps returning, and what it may be asking of you.
Traditionally read through the Sun, the North Node, the Ascendant and the Midheaven, the 1st, 9th and 10th houses, and the Part of Fortune.
What it explores
The directions your attention keeps returning to, the resources you already lean on, and the edges where you may be growing. It describes threads to explore rather than a purpose to find.
Questions it may open
- Where does your attention go when nothing is asking for it?
- Which of your strengths do you use without noticing them?
- What would a small experiment in a new direction look like this month?
What the reading contains
Each reading is written for one chart, so its words are its own. These are the sections it is written in.
- Overview
- Threads of direction
- Familiar resources
- Growth edges
- Aware expression
- Automatic expression
- Questions to reflect on
- What this may miss
- Helpful focus
What it never does
It never tells you what your purpose is. It offers threads to explore, and you decide which, if any, are yours.
Your birth details stay on your device. The reading is written from your chart's facts alone, never from your name or your birth details.
Words this report uses
- Natal chartA natal chart is a map of where the Sun, the Moon and the planets stood, seen from your birthplace, at the moment you were born.
- Birth timeBirth time fixes which way the horizon faced at your birth, so it sets the Ascendant, the Midheaven and the houses; without it, those parts of a chart are unknown.
- North NodeThe North Node is the point where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's path going north; the tradition associates it with a direction of growth, and the South Node opposite with familiar ground.
- The anglesThe four angles are where the horizon and the meridian cross the zodiac at your birth: the Ascendant rising in the east, the Descendant setting in the west, the Midheaven above and the IC below.
- The SunThe Sun is traditionally associated with identity and vitality: in a chart, an invitation to notice how that theme shows up in your experience.
- JupiterJupiter is traditionally associated with growth and meaning: in a chart, an invitation to notice how that theme shows up in your experience.
