The words a chart uses
The Sun in astrology
The Sun is traditionally associated with identity and vitality: in a chart, an invitation to notice how that theme shows up in your experience.
The Sun is the centre of a chart in the tradition, associated with identity, vitality and what you put your effort behind. Its sign is the one people mean when they ask your star sign, since the Sun spends about a month in each.
The Sun's house is read as the area of life where that theme may show up most, and its aspects as the other themes it is in conversation with. Becoming Choice reads the Sun as a question about what makes you feel most like yourself, never as a statement of who you are.
The Sun is never retrograde: seen from the Earth it moves steadily forward through the zodiac, about a degree a day.
